Evansville Retailer to Close After 60 Years in Business
Paul’s Menswear launched a retirement sale last month, with plans to close doors after over 60 years on the west side of Evansville. While I never personally purchased a suit from Paul’s Menswear, I can certainly appreciate the time that goes into getting a suit or pants tailored. I purchased my first suit in December 2019 when I started going on job interviews after college. Buying my first suit around that time was, to me, a symbol of accomplishment, and it was a great experience. I would imagine many in the Evansville area have similar stories about shopping at Paul’s Menswear.

What’s the ‘E’ That Randomly Pops Up in the Top, Right Corner of Your Phone?
There always seems to be various symbols, letters, or numbers popping up or disappearing in the top, right corner of our mobile phones. We're used to seeing 4G or 5G, the WiFi sign, the signal strength, and the battery symbol but the 'E' is one of those sporadic letters that may jump off the screen when it appears because of its randomness.
Redbox Owner Files for Bankruptcy: The Final Blow to DVD Rentals?
The parent company of Redbox, which still operates thousands of DVD rental kiosks nationwide, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. When I was growing up, VHS tapes were in the process of being phased out and replaced with DVDs. I collected DVDs of my favorite movies all through elementary school and high school. I bought hundreds of movies and was a frequent patron of the $5 movie bin at Walmart. As time went on, I started collecting Blu-ray discs and later 4K discs. In fact, I have every edition of Star Wars: The Original Trilogy that was ever released in home video format, excluding laser disc.

Indiana’s Most Popular Dog Breed is Quite the Surprising Choice
While I believe that all dogs are good dogs, only one can take the crown as the most popular, and Indiana's favorite breed was surprising. According to Forbes, dogs are the most popular pet for U.S. households as 44.5% of U.S. households own dogs whereas 29% own cats. It's safe to say that whether you have a cat or a dog (or maybe both) Americans love their pets, but which breeds are people the most fond of?

Do you regularly donate blood? I donated just a couple of weeks ago with the Western Kentucky Regional Blood Center and they need your help and donations this Wednesday. Summer is a time when regular donors may forget about it. We get distracted by countless activities and vacations. Thus, WKRBC is running dangerously low on some blood types. You can help and there's some food involved.
What You’ve Heard About Crows Is Bizarrely True and a Bit Frightening
Do we dare talk about Alfred Hitchcock's 1963 horror classic, The Birds? Except right now, I'm talking about real life and the creepy fact that we should never cross a crow because they never, ever forget a face and even pass it on their flock. And yes, that flock passes...

Sometimes nature is truly mesmerizing. This morning (July 2nd) was truly a perfect summer morning. The sun was out, and outside was still cool from the night before. In the sky, I saw something that I had not seen before, a full halo around the sun. I've seen a sun dog before, but never one that was a full halo! So what is a sun dog, and why do they happen? Because the views they create are quite stunning!
