Tickets On Sale for 2024 Sandy Lee Watkins Songwriters Fest in Henderson
The annual Sandy Lee Watkins Songfest returns to Henderson, Kentucky this July and you won't want to miss it!. The event brings in over 20 songwriters from the region and some from Nashville, some of them Grammy Award winners, for four nights of performances at two different venues in downtown Henderson to play several songs acoustically they've either written for themselves or for others. Before performing, they'll share the stories behind how those songs came to be. This year's lineup will once again feature Don Sampson who wrote "Waitin' on Woman" for Brad Paisley, and Tony Arata, the writer behind "The Dance" from Garth Brooks. It's always a great time to hear some of the stories behind the songs you know and love. A lot of times, it gives you a different perspective on these songs.
If You See This Furry ‘Mustache’ in Indiana, Whatever You Do, Do Not Touch It
This cute and fluffy creature found in Indiana is actually the most dangerous caterpillar in the U.S. Now that we're in the warmer months, you might encounter some strange things outside, but there is one curious thing that if you wind up coming across, you should never touch it. Once you see it, you might be compelled to pick it up and show it off to your friends because it looks cute and furry. You might feel the urge try to reach out and run your finger along it, but those who do wind up very sorry. That's because the insect, a caterpillar, is incredibly toxic.

Fascinating and Colorful Cloud Formation Spotted Over Southern Indiana
It's a time-honored travel game, picnic game, or backyard game. Wherever you might be when you play it, it's time-honored. Frankly, I'm no good at playing "cloud shapes." When others see a Doberman riding a moped holding groceries, I see a pine tree covered in snow. You get the idea. But today, I will win, because the iridescent cloud that formed over southern Indiana looks just like a...

Can You Afford a Stay at Indiana’s Most Expensive Hotel?
There are hundreds of hotels located throughout the Hoosier state, but one vacation locale takes the cake when it comes to the most expensive room rates. When I was a kid on vacation with my family, I always looked forward to staying in hotels. My favorite part of our stay was usually cable TV, as we didn't have that option at home. I also liked the continental breakfast and swimming pool, whether indoors or outdoors. However, as I have gotten older, I've become less and less excited about staying in hotels. Rooms are not only expensive, but they're also rarely as clean as I would like them to be. Plus, at the end of a long day, I just want to sleep in my own bed.
30 Outrageous Fireworks Names That Sound Fake, But are Actually Real
"Hey, you wanna come over and watch me fire off some Lazer Kittyz?" For those in states where they are legal (and those who have carefully driven across state lines), visiting stores that sell fireworks can be as much of an annual July 4 tradition as inviting friends and family over for a cookout.
Is It Legal to Haul Multiple Items at Once in Indiana?
Recently, my daughter has gotten into showing her horse. Up until this year, my husband has been the one who has towed our crew to the showgrounds. But this year, he decided it was my turn to take the reins – literally. Now, I'm not exactly thrilled about it. Maneuvering a couple of 1,000-pound horses in a 3,500-pound trailer is not exactly my idea of a stress-free day. But hey, I'm learning.

Did You Know One of the Voices of Your Childhood is from Indiana?
Did you know the voice of some of your favorite characters from Star Wars, SpongeBob SquarePants, Space Jam, and several others is a fellow Hoosier?. It just wasn't a Saturday morning in 2005 without the cartoons. I can still remember getting up at around 7 a.m. to plop myself in front of an old Magnavox TV with a bowl of Cap'n Crunch, ready to enjoy all my favorite shows. I normally wouldn't move until the news came on, or I was told to go outside for some fresh air. As I got older and caught reruns of those programs, I began to do some research on who voiced some of my favorite iconic characters, and Dee Bradley Baker popped up several times during my Google excursions.
