River otter responsible for multiple deaths at Lake Eola
A river otter was discovered in Lake Eola on Monday, July 15, unfortunately, the City of Orlando’s Families, Parks, and Recreation staff also found two Australian Black swans and one duck dead. The assumption is that the otter is responsible for the deaths of the swans and ducks though it was not caught on camera.

Former University Club is now an event venue and soon-to-be food hall
One of Orlando’s oldest social organizations, the University Club (Website), closed its downtown clubhouse in 2023. The members-only University Club was founded in downtown Orlando in 1926. The invitation-only club sold its original building at 125 E. Pine Street [GMap] to a developer back in 2015, which replaced it with the new Modera Central.
Growing up quickly at Orlando Wetlands
One of the cool benefits of visiting the Orlando Wetlands regularly is witnessing little baby birds growing into big birds.
