Kitsap County residents woke up Friday to a haze lingering over otherwise sunny conditions.

Easterly winds have brought smoke from several fires burning in eastern Washington and across the border in Canada into the Puget Sound region, according to the National Weather Service .

The smoke is likely the result of four fires, according to the Washington Smoke Blog . That includes the Shetland and Calcite Fires in British Columbia plus the Pioneer Fire near Lake Chelan and Retreat Fire near Yakima.
