A Sedalia man was injured in a three-vehicle accident that occurred Friday afternoon in Johnson County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2015 Chevy Silverado, driven by 63-year-old Nicholas C. Palecek of Sedalia, was on Missouri 13, north of the Business 13 Roundabout around 1:30 p.m., when Palecek crossed the center line and attempted to pass a southbound 2024 Freightliner, driven by 67-year-old William L. Thompson of Springfield.

Two people were killed and several others injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred Sunday night in Jackson County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2013 Hyundai Elantra, driven by 20-year-old Connor J. Souther of Lexington, was on I-70 at mile marker 23.6 around 8:30 p.m., when the vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway, crossed the median and traveled into the westbound lanes and struck a westbound 2018 Chevy Traverse, driven by 56-year-old Garret D.
