CASCADE LOCKS, Ore. (KATU) — Officials say the Whisky Creek Fire burning in the Mt. Hood National Forest, near the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, remains at 10.5 acres Sunday afternoon. The fire is located about five miles southeast of Cascade Locks and was first reported Saturday morning.

Federal officials have approved Oregon’s request to offer free Medicaid services for addiction and some other services to people who are on the verge of being released from jail or prison, something that’s prohibited by federal law.
