'We need a solution and we need it quickly' | Ricardo traffic accident spike pushes call for action
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Kleberg County Judge Rudy Madrid called an emergency meeting Friday over the public safety concerns along Highway 77. TxDOT crews in Ricardo are working to improve and expand the highway as part of the I-69 corridor. However, a number of recent accidents had the judge calling for action to slow traffic down in that construction zone especially as school is set to open in the coming weeks.

Not only does Kleberg County love jet noise, but locals also love the economic impact of Naval Air Station Kingsville. The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts recently said the population directly affiliated with NASK contributed at least $1 billion to the Texas economy in 2023.
