MALTA ( KLFY ) — An Abbeville High state champion powerlifter has new hardware to add to her trophy case.

Khandi Shuford, of Cajun Prep Powerlifting, took home three medals on Thursday at the IPF World Classic & Equipped Sub-Junior & Junior Powerlifting Championships in Malta.

Shuford secured a silver medal for bench press, and gold medals for deadlift and total weight in the 57 KG Sub-Junior division.

This was another major accomplishment for the young lifter after Shuford collected a pair of state championships in her freshman and sophomore years at Abbeville.
