    More than 200K without power across Louisiana, outage map shows

    LOUISIANA ( KLFY ) — More than 200,000 customers are without power across lower Louisiana late Wednesday, according to PowerOutage.us .

    The National Hurricane Center (NHC) said Hurricane Francine made landfall Wednesday afternoon about 30 miles south-southwest of Morgan City as a Category 2 storm.

    In St. Mary Parish, a little more than 72% of Cleco customers are without power as of 8 p.m. Wednesday. That’s 148 outages affecting roughly 13,800 customers, according to Cleco.

    Other local parish outage counts, per the PowerOutage.us map, as of 8:11 p.m.:

    • Lafayette – 165
    • St. Martin – 843
    • Iberia – 4,689
    • Vermilion – 2,366
    • Acadia – 10
    • St. Landry – 6

    PowerOutage.us shows reported outages for customers of multiple power suppliers, such as Cleco, SLECMO, Entergy and more.

    As of 8:24 p.m. Wednesday, the outage map reports that approximately 230,800 customers in Louisiana are without power.
