LOUISIANA ( KLFY ) — As the first day of Hurricane Francine recovery ends, more than half of the customers affected by power outages across the state have electricity again.

According to PowerOutage.us map, 159,623 customers across Louisiana were still without power at 9:20 p.m. Thursday which is considerably less compared to the 390,404 customers that were without power around 7:30 Thursday morning.

The outage map shows reported outages for customers of multiple power suppliers, such as Cleco , SLECMO , Entergy and more.

The National Hurricane Center said Hurricane Francine made landfall Wednesday afternoon about 30 miles south-southwest of Morgan City as a Category 2 storm.

“Our crews are still working to tackle the damage left behind by Hurricane Francine and get the lights back on for our customers. And while our crews are continuing to work, we do expect that some outages will last overnight,” said Clint Robichaux, Cleco director of distribution operations and reliability.

Entergy reported that it has restored power to roughly half of its customers.

SLEMCO announced Thursday that it sent 50 crew members to help restore power to SLECA customers in Houma.
