VERMILION PARISH, La. ( KLFY ) — Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man posing as a cable installer who tried to break into a home in Vermilion Parish.

The Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office said a man (pictured below) in a white SUV tried to break into a home on Red Rose Lane near La. 338 on Tuesday. Officials said he was posing as a cable or security camera installer, and used a possible Wi-Fi jamming device while attempting to pick the lock on the front door.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Sgt. Chad Touchet at 337-898-4403.
