Storm Team 10 and the National Hurricane Center are monitoring a hyperactive Atlantic Basin with multiple named systems along with areas that could develop in the coming days. Tropical Depression Joyce and Tropical Storm Kirk are in the Atlantic but aren’t expected to pose a threat to reach the United States. Another area of low pressure has a high chance of forming behind Kirk in the coming days.

Our attention is back on the western and central Caribbean Sea this week. The NHC has lowered developmental chances to 40%. Models are suggesting that a weak and disorganized system will try to develop in the Gulf over the next 5 to 10 days. A surge of tropical moisture will enhance rain chances for Acadiana by Friday but a fully developed system is not expected. The forecast confidence remains low at this time. The next names on the list are Kirk, Leslie, and Milton.
