UPDATE, 12:35 p.m.: The college has issued an “all clear,” saying that students and staff may resume normal activity.

ORIGINAL STORY: LAFAYETTE, La. ( KLFY ) — South Louisiana Community College students and staff at its Lafayette campus are being asked to clear the halls and stay inside rooms.

A post on the college’s Facebook page calls the action a “hold,” similar to a shelter-in-place order.

“A HOLD! requires those in the building to hold in our rooms or areas,” the post reads. “We also are asking everyone to clear the halls.”
