LAFAYETTE, La. ( KLFY ) — Lafayette Police made a large drug bust last week, seizing over two pounds of fentanyl and arresting a Texas man, authorities said.

A joint operation with the DEA, Louisiana State Police and Lafayette Police Department Narcotics Agents led to the arrest of Huey K. Jones, 50, of Katy, Texas on Oct. 2.

Agents arrested Jones in the 100 block of Gentilly Road, where the suspect attempted to flee. The suspect was apprehended without further incident, and 960 grams (2.12 lbs.) of hard-pressed fentanyl was recovered.

The street value of the narcotics seized is estimated to be $384,000, officials said.
