Fall arrives in Acadiana, nice weather continues through early next week

We’ve seen a big temperature swing through the past 12 hours! Highs yesterday were in the lower 90s, but we barely snuck into the lower 70s this afternoon. Strong northerly winds may things feel cooler, but these winds should begin to die down later tonight.

A chilly night is expected with clear skies and relaxing winds. Temperatures could reach the low-mid 40s by morning, before rebounding into the mid-70s tomorrow afternoon.

Another cool morning is expected Friday, but a warming trend is expected thereafter. This is due to an approaching upper-level trough, which will give us southwesterly flow through the weekend and early next week. This will bring back the mid-80s By Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week.

The dry conditions look to continue across the area with no meaningful rainfall expected through the next seven days.
