LAFAYETTE, La. ( KLFY ) — Funeral arrangements have been announced for Lafayette City Court Judge Jules Edwards III, who died Tuesday at the age of 66 .

Services will be held Oct. 26 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church on Twelfth Street in Lafayette. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m., rosary at 9 a.m. and the funeral service will follow at noon.

Edwards will be laid to rest at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery, according to Syrie Funeral Home, which is handling arrangements.

The New Orleans native served the city of Lafayette from 1993 to 2024, most recently in the city court . Edwards worked with the 15th Judicial District Court from 1993 to 2020 and was Chief Judge from 2001 until 2003.
