A slow-moving frontal boundary will drop south across the region today and tomorrow, triggering showers and storms today and an area of rain on Tuesday. This boundary extends west to east roughly across Lake Ontario this morning. An area of rain and storms over Canada has moved out over the northern waters of Lake Ontario. This area of precipitation is expected to stay out over the lake until it passes east of the Finger Lakes.

The council amended a contract with Haven for Hope during the Safety, Housing, Education and Homelessness Committee meeting Wednesday. Instead of Haven of Hope providing migrants with cash assistance on debit cards, it will instead provide “culturally appropriate” food.

Thunderstorms have been a frequent flyer in parts of the Southwest and just about non-existent in other portions of the region. However, that will soon change. Summertime conditions have allowed parts of the southwestern United States to experience locally drenching and gusty thunderstorm activity, but storms have been scarce from western Arizona and Nevada to California thus far. However, AccuWeather meteorologists believe that may change as the calendar turns to August.

Humidity levels have been creeping higher since Saturday and we are going to be back in the soup for today as well as the week ahead. Here we (could) go again.. After making a second landfall in South Carolina, Debby weakened to a tropical storm and now located close to Charlotte, North Carolina. Despite the downgrade, the storm remains a threat, bringing heavy rainfall and tornado watches across North Carolina. Tragically, Debby has claimed six lives, including two in Georgia. Although Debby will soon lose its tropical characteristics, the risk of flooding and tornadoes persists as it moves into other states.
