ITASCA, Texas ( FOX 44 ) – Donations are needed in order to assist nine dogs rescued from a fire in Itasca.

More than a dozen fire departments responded to Mill Street in Itasca last weekend in order to extinguish a fire at the Animal Shelter. The dogs were rescued before the fire engulfed the shelter.

However, all of the dogs’ supplies were lost in the fire. These supplies included dog food, medications, vaccines, treats, kennels, bowls and office supplies. The non-profit organization Reflextion Ranch and the Drowzydawg Rescue Facebook group have taken dog food and metal cans to store the food. As of Tuesday morning, over $1,600 has been raised for Reflextion Ranch.

The future of this shelter has yet to be seen. The dogs are being temporarily housed in a building.

While plenty of dog food, bowls, leashes and collars have been received, more donations are needed for the dogs. Funds are also needed to assist with medications and vaccines.

The shelter does not have a direct donation link. If you would like to make a donation, you can view the Amazon Wishlist here .
