Local Artist Debra Vance hosts open art gallery

SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) — Local Artist Debra Vance spoke about her artwork at her open art gallery that was hosted on Aug. 25.

Vance told the team that she paints in series. She also said that she started her art-ventures in watercolors. She also told us about how she entered the local plein air competition. She also plans to paint in the en plein air Texas competition, which is coming up soon.

When asked about how Vance creates her pieces said, “I love to work in both plein air and in oil, the oil paintings and mixed media techniques that you see behind me are very fun because I get to create a background and as that settles and dries, then I am pulling an image from the way the paint dried.”

The jewelry that Vance sells is silver-plated flatware. She loves the theme of the flatware because it symbolizes her faith through her work.
