Westfest returning for Labor Day weekend

WEST, Texas ( FOX 44 ) – West’s biggest annual event is returning this Labor Day weekend!

Westfest salutes the area’s Czech heritage, according to the event’s official website . It features constant entertainment, authentic Czech music, food and many family-oriented activities!

The event was founded in 1976 as a means for the West community to raise funds for a variety of projects, including athletic facilities for youth groups, senior citizen activities, a community center, library and other civic and cultural programs. Westfest has raised over a million dollars for the community to date.

This year’s festivities will take place on August 31 through September 2. All Westfest activities are scheduled at the West Fair and Rodeo Grounds, located one mile south of downtown West on South Main Street. Event organizers say the event is made possible each year thanks to the hundreds of volunteers dedicating their time during, before and after the annual fest.

Westfest is also a non-profit 501c organization. This year’s event is presented by the WestLand Realty Group.
