SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) —The City of San Angelo on average uses about 15 thousand acre-feet annually, however, the runoff into O-H Lake Ivie on Sept. 4 has increased it to 45-thousand feet.

“Ivey right now is the breadwinner for us here in San Angelo and has gained about 50,000 vertical feet. Twin Buttes is just starting, there was water that came from Christoval last night that’s just making it through the south pool and the equalization channel. I expect it to rise It’s got about 1,500 acres we have to get three or 4,000 before it is all over will acre-feet. O-C Fisher of course is our breadwinner as far as ecological safety. We’ve got eight times the amount of water we had in that lake, we’ve got a thriving ecosystem,” said Chuck Brown, President of Hydro Corporation.

The runoff from all the area lakes still flowing on Sept. 4 are all indicators of the runoff adding significant amounts of water to reservoirs that serve as the main water sources for the City of San Angelo.

O-H Ivie Lake is in Runnels and Concho counties east of San Angelo and has been collecting runoff from the Concho and Colorado rivers. 45-thousand acre-feet of water has flowed into O-H Lake Ivie and is still currently rising.
