SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) — The San Angelo Police Officer’s Coalition and the City of San Angelo officials reached an agreement that may result in pay increases for SAPD officers on Sept. 9.

Under the cost-neutral plan approved by the City of San Angelo, officers will receive pay increases funded through existing budget allocations. According to the City of San Angelo, the agreement utilizes savings from unfilled positions within the SAPD and is expected to increase recruitment and retention in the department.

The proposal now awaits approval from the SAPD officers and final ratification by the San Angelo City Council. If approved, the new pay system will occur effectively on Oct. 1 and remain in place through Dec. 31, 2025.

The Concho Valley Homepage has reached out to the SAPOC and the City for comments but has not received further information at the time of publication.
