    San Angelo native surpasses waterbody record with longnose gar catch

    SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) —Landry Jones made a longnose gar catch that could set a new junior waterbody record at Lake Nasworthy on Sept. 9.

    According to a social media post shared by Inland Fisheries San Angelo District – Texas Parks and Wildlife, the fish weighed 10.65 pounds and measured 47.75 inches in length. Jone’s catch surpasses the previous record of 8.80 pounds and 43.25 inches set on June 8, 2024.

    The Texas Parks and Wildlife Inland Fisheries San Angelo District is reviewing Jones’s official record status submission.
