Ram Jam, concert to kick off ASU Home Opening Game Day

SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) — Angelo State University’s first at-home football game of the 2024 season is scheduled for Sept. 14, and the college plans to kick it off with a free tailgate party and concert.

The university will host a Ram Jam tailgate party from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the LeGrand Alumni and Visitors Center, during which a free concert featuring country music artist Jordan Harvey will be held. The Ram Jam will also include free food, giveaways and performances by the ASU Ram Band and Cheer Team.

The Ram Jam is free and open to the public. Those ages 21 and over who wish to consume alcohol must present a valid government-issued ID at stations at the event to obtain a free wristband.

Following the Ram Jam, the football game between the ASU Rams and the Eastern New Mexico University Greyhounds will start at 6 p.m. in the LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Field. The game will be a “Blue Out,” with ASU fans encouraged to wear blue in support of the Rams.

ASU encourages those interested in attending the football game and any other athletic events to remember the university’s clear bag policy . Under this policy, only bags with the following specifications will be allowed into athletics events:

• Bags or backpacks that are clear and do not exceed 12 inches long by 12 inches high by 6 inches wide
• One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag
• Small clutch purses, with or without a handle or a strap, not exceeding 5 inches by 8 inches

Prohibited items will not be held for fans during events, and fans who refuse to allow inspections of bags will be denied entry to the facility.
