SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) — An Odessa woman pled guilty in Tom Green County during the week of Sept. 9 to possessing a controlled substance with intent to deliver, according to the 119th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

According to a report issued by the office on Sept. 12, 30-year-old Brandy Todd pled guilty to a charge of possessing a controlled substance in an amount between 4-200 grams with intent to deliver in exchange for 12 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Such a charge is a first-degree felony and punishable by 5-99 years of imprisonment and a $10,000 fine.

The report stated that two Texas Highway Patrol troopers conducted a routine traffic stop on a pickup operated by Todd on Dec. 21, 2023, for speeding on FM 765 in Tom Green County. Upon contacting Todd, one of the troopers “noticed syringes inside the vehicle containing what he expected to be liquid methamphetamine.”

The vehicle was subsequently searched, and the troopers discovered that it contained marijuana, Xanax, and a pink notebook containing a drug ledger as well as the syringes. Todd was taken into custody and searched, and a bag containing 196 grams of meth was found to be concealed in her pants leg.

During Todd’s trial, the State “offered evidence related to the defendant’s other pending charges for possession of methamphetamine in Williamson County and for smuggling illegal immigrants in Kinney County.”

“Methamphetamine continues to plague our community and feeds the majority of felony cases we see in our office,” the district attorney’s office said. “Our office is committed to working closely with all of our law-enforcement agencies to aggressively prosecute drug dealers and hold them accountable. As this case demonstrates, our community won’t tolerate drug dealers either.”
