    Suspect in Killeen’s 16th murder of 2024 arrested

    KILLEEN, Texas ( FOX 44 ) – A suspect has been identified and arrested in connection with Killeen’s 16th murder of 2024.

    The Police Department says this case was presented to the Bell County District Attorney’s Office, and a complaint was returned charging Jacorri Zahary Stevenson, of Austin, with Murder. Justice of the Peace Nicola James issued an arrest warrant for his arrest.

    Stevenson was found and arrested in Austin on Saturday by the Robbery-Homicide Detectives and transported to the Killeen City Jail. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Nicola James and his bond was set at $1 million. Stevenson was subsequently transferred to the Bell County Jail.

    This comes after Killeen Police said one man was seriously wounded and later died in a shooting on Botanical Drive on September 19.

    Police were originally called out at 1:04 p.m. to the 2200 block of Botanical and found the victim, identified as 18-year-old Octavion Keshun Tucker. He was airlifted to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in critical condition and was pronounced dead.

    Tucker became Killeen’s 16th murder victim of 2024. Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division are actively investigating this shooting.
