WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — A 16-year-old is in custody following a string of overnight robberies spanning across the Wichita Falls area.

It started just after 1 a.m. on Tuesday morning, September 24, when officers were called to the Stripes on Holliday Street for an aggravated robbery.

The suspect was said to be armed and have demanded money. He was wearing a dark hoodie, a white mask, khakis, no gloves, and dark shoes.

The suspect then fled in a white Dodge Challenger with black stripes, and just six minutes later, dispatch got called to another aggravated robbery at the Stripes on Broad Street.

The suspect was described as wearing the same clothing and also demanded money with the firearm before fleeing in the Challenger.

About twenty minutes after the first robbery, WFPD officers were checking on a call at QuikTrip when they spotted a vehicle with a similar description in the parking lot. The officers then discovered that the suspect was in the store at that moment, robbing it, and had the store clerk at gunpoint.

While officers were confirming the vehicle, the suspect fled. Officers then set up a perimeter and a drone search; however, they couldn’t find him.

Around 2:20 a.m., approximately one hour after the first robbery, officers were dispatched to the DK gas station at 100 East Hatton Road, where the same suspect was described entering the store waving a firearm and demanding money.

The suspect then demanded the clerk go outside and unlock her car, where he went through the vehicle. He then went back inside and asked for her phone before fleeing the scene.

Around 2:30 a.m., one hour and 18 minutes after the first robbery, officers were dispatched to the Stripes at Kemp and Call Field. During that robbery, as the suspect demanded money while holding his weapon, a driver from Mike’s Towing intervened and stood between the clerk and the suspect. The suspect then stole a red truck and fled the scene.

Officers eventually pursued the vehicle, and the suspect wrecked along Jacksboro highway and Midwestern Parkway, where he then fled on foot. Officers lost him somewhere in the Woodview Apartments area on 32nd Street.

Officers with the special operations unit and the patrol officer set up a perimeter, and the suspect was found on a balcony of one of the apartments and subsequently arrested. He was in possession of a firearm that was stolen.
