    HARLINGEN, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — It’s a bird! It’s a plane! … Actually, it was a meteor!

ValleyCentral reached out to some viewers after seeing photos and videos circulating online of an unidentified bright blaze cutting across the sky last night in Harlingen.

Shannon Fox, a Harlingen resident captured the following video on her door camera.

Our Meteorologist Briana Medina says we were not expecting a meteor shower of that gravity and that the event was random and isolated.

“This is officially the second meteor we see in the Valley this year,” Medina said.

Forecaster Craig Verley says that while meteor showers do happen frequently, it is not common to see such a bright blaze from them.

“To see a fireball of that nature is very uncommon,” Verley said.

To report a fireball or any other meteor activity, visit the American Meteor Society .

Regardless of whether or not the Valley was expecting to see the bright light blaze in the sky, those who spotted it were left in awe.

I Saw it last night too.The timing of me turning in the direction as it flew over the night sky here in EdinburgTx.was priceless.I'm guessing it was between 8:00 p m.and 8:15 p .m. I could be wrong about the time but I doubt it.I'm more than sure that's around the time when I saw it fly by too.I thought it was a falling star at first. Now I'm hearing that it was a meteor. The colors of it as it zipped on by leaving a bright florescent blueish greenish and white light shooting across the night sky was worth seeing and wishing I could have video recorded it to have it saved in my phone.People saw this from Harlingen TX. And I saw it from Edinburg,Tx.The distance and speed that it was traveling from over there in Harlingen TX and to see it over here too, it makes me wonder how fast was it traveling and also how big of a meteor could it have been right before it burned out and disappeared?
