Texas A&M Task Force 1 assisting in hurricane response

TEXAS ( FOX 44 ) – Texas A&M Task Force 1 (TX-TF1) has been activated in response to Hurricane Helene.

This comes at the request of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and with approval from the Office of Gov. Greg Abbott and the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM). The team consists of 80 personnel, six canines, 17 vehicles, four flood and two swift water boats, and is deployed as a FEMA Type 1 Mission Ready Package (MRP). The team arrived in Florida prior to the storm’s landfall.
