SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) — An off-duty nurse was awarded for his actions and saving lives in a fire in his apartment building.

    Fire at Wildewood apartments

Chief Travis Griffith of the San Angelo Police Department presented Thomas Ndlovu, a nurse at Shannon Hospital, with an award for saving two children from a burning apartment on Sept. 14.

Thomas Ndlovu is a nurse at Shannon and just happened to be downstairs of the apartment unit that caught fire. He went upstairs and busted down the door and saved two kids that would have got stuck in the fire.

During a press conference San Angelo Police Chief Griffith pointed out that the fire was caused by an E-Bike charger. He also mentioned that if you have any electronics to unplug them once they are fully charged because it can start a fire if you don’t.
