HIGHLIGHTS: Angelo State Belles celebrate pink game with a 2-0 win

Belles fans packed LeGrand Soccer Complex on Wednesday night, sporting pink merchandise in honor of breast cancer awareness. Angelo State wasted no time in this game; forward Shaelyn Ward drew first blood for the Belles with a seventh minute goal.

Three minutes later, lightning struck again. ASU midfielder Sanai Stewart found the back of the net, giving the Belles an early 2-0 lead.

The Belles fast start set the tone for the remainder of the match, as all damage was done in the first half. ASU defeated St. Edwards 2-0, claiming its second straight win to close its four-game homestand. The Belles travel to face the Midwestern State Mustangs on Saturday, Oct. 5. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
