    ASU Theatre to host award-winning stage play

    SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) — Angelo State University will host its first production of the fall season “1984”, in the ASU Modular Theatre on Oct. 10.

    According to a press release from ASU, showtimes for the award-winning drama by George Orwell will start at 8 p.m. on Oct. 10 -12 and Oct. 17-19, located in the ASU Modular Theatre at 2602 Dena Drive. Ticket prices are set at $10 for the general public, $5 for non-ASU students, and free for ASU students and activity card holders. The university noted the drama contains adult themes and is recommended for attendees 18 and older.

    The famous adapted stage play earned two Liverpool Arts Awards in 2013, a UK Theatre Award in 2014, and was nominated for a Tony Award in 2018. The stage play, directed by the director of University Theatre Daniel Anderson, will feature an all-student cast including Jordan Chapman, Tyson Walls, Xander Cooper, Emily Wagner and more.
