SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) — The Tom Green County Library in San Angelo invited guests to hear from a spokesperson for Operation Christmas Child on Oct. 5.

Dioany Yosuino is a spokesperson for Operation Christmas Child, a project started by the Samaritan’s Purse International Relief organization. She came to San Angelo to share her story of receiving a shoebox and advocate for the program.

When she was 11 years old living in Venezuela, Dioany received a shoebox from Operation Christmas Child that changed her life. At the time, Venezuela was facing an economic crisis that impacted her and her family. She asked her mother for a set of markers for her art projects but unfortunately, supplies and money were limited.

When she received her shoebox, she was surprised to find a new set of markers. She said, “God knew the desires of my heart.” From that moment, she wanted to share the joy and love she felt when she received her shoebox.

Dionay now has a degree in communication and travels the country sharing her story and encouraging others to participate in Operation Christmas Child.

For more information or to send a shoebox to a child this holiday season, go to https://www.samaritanspurse.org/ .
