HIGHLIGHTS: Robert Lee handles Irion County 61-12 to kick off District play

SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) A pair of Concho Valley teams under the beautiful October sky saw the Irion County Hornets traveling to Robert Lee. Robert Lee would handle Irion County 61-12 to kick off District play.

A quick strike early in this game saw Robert Lee on the board first 6-0 after a double pass to Brennan Sherwood for the long touchdown pass. The Hornets fired back quickly with Colton Lawdermilk off to the races to find the endzone with a pair of Steers behind him. Robert Lee wasn’t done yet. Another double pass and another Deep shot to the end zone this time by Wyatt Bosworth. And with the same trend, Robert Lee would set up another double pass, and would find Jaxon Tavarez who would do the rest. 31-12 Steers led at halftime and would pull away with the 61-12 final score to go 1-0 in District play.

Robert Lee now 5-2 on the season, 1-0 in district play and at home next week vs Paint Rock. For the Hornets, they now move to 2-5 on the season with a bye week next week.
