SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) Central opened up district play this past Friday night traveling to take on the defending district winner from last season, Midland Legacy. Unfortunately, the Bobcats are looking to rebound after starting districts 0-1.

The Bobcats were in a classic game that featured a tale of two halves. They found themselves down at halftime 35-16. But would outscore Midland Legacy 35-7 in the second half. Central faced adversity as three touchdowns were wiped off the board sparking a controversial ending to last week’s tough 42-36 loss.

Back-to-back 75-yard plays, one being a touchdown were wiped off the board in the 3rd quarter. With a 3rd score wiped off the board in the 4th. Central would score with nearly a minute to go in the contest to bring the game within 6 but time would run out after not converting the onside. A brutal loss for the Bobcats.

Head Coach Mark Smith spoke to us today regarding Friday’s tough loss and rather than dwell and make excuses, he talked highly about the team he has, the player’s mindsets what he loves about this roster, and their resiliency. Coach Smith and the boys look to rebound this Friday as the undefeated Mojo come to town for what should be a great game. Kickoff is set for this Friday at 7 pm.
