Unidad Park playground reopens following maintenance

SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) — The playground at Unidad Park has reopened for public use after days of maintenance work.

The City of San Angelo announced on the afternoon of Oct. 14 that the park’s playground would be closed for ground material repair effective Oct. 15. Then, during the morning hours of Oct. 17, the City stated that the playground was once again open.

The playground wasn’t the only recreation option that was closed on Oct. 15 at Unidad Park, however. The All-Tex Irrigation splash pad was shut down for the season at 8 p.m. that day, closing out its first season of operation.

Located at 3245 Vista Del Arroyo Drive, Unidad Park spans 7.3 acres and has multiple features, such as a pavilion, baseball practice field, horseshoe pits and the recently-added splash pad . The park’s playground underwent renovations beginning in November 2021 and concluding in June 2022 .
