PLANTERSVILLE, Texas ( FOX 44 ) – Narcotics and firearms have been seized after a pursuit started in Grimes County and ended in Waller County.

Sheriff Don Sowell says Grimes County investigators attempted to find a wanted person in Plantersville at approximately 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16. They found a blue minivan, which is what the suspect was known to drive. Investigators requested a marked Grimes County unit to attempt a traffic stop.

A deputy arrived in the area and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The suspect, identified as Darrell Edwin Hemann, failed to stop and continued westbound on County Road 302 and southbound on FM-1774, disregarding traffic control lights. Hemann accelerated to speeds over 100 mph with no regard to public safety. Sheriff Sowell says this pursuit continued into Waller County, where Waller County Sheriff’s deputies and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers responded to assist.

A passenger, identified as Shandi Imhoff, was seen throwing objects out of the front passenger window. These objects were later identified as suspected narcotics. Emergency Medical Services were notified and cleared both Hemann and Imhoff medically. The two were placed under arrest and transported to the Grimes County Jail.

Sheriff Sowell says Hemann was wanted out of Pardon and Parole for a parole violation and Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Four to 200 Grams. Imhoff has been charged with Tampering with Evidence, a third-degree felony. Items recovered from the vehicle included suspected meth, heroin, a pellet gun, a cap gun and other miscellaneous items. Additional charges are pending.
