    COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia Police Department investigated reports of shots fired in West Columbia on Friday night.

Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of I-70 Drive Southwest around 7:40 p.m. An ABC 17 News reporter observed at least eight patrol vehicles at the scene in Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen's parking lot.

Columbia Police Department spokesman Brian McNeill said police were responding to a call for shots heard. An officer at the scene said police were not aware of any injuries related to the investigation.

An ABC 17 News reporter saw glass on the ground and what appeared to be bullet holes in a vehicle.

Isaac Shane Walter's said his girlfriend's truck was hit by a vehicle he believes was trying to drive away after shots were fired. He said he came outside to find people standing around his girlfriend's damaged truck. He says there was a car with its window shot out a few feet away.

Police cleared the scene just before 9 p.m.
