The Slater City Council held discussions over several upcoming events during its meeting on Tuesday, October 1.

The council discussed a dedication with USDA Rural Development on October 10. The city received a grant from Rural Development several years ago and used the funds from the grant to replace equipment and machinery for the city. The city will hold the dedication with representatives from Rural Development beginning at 10 a.m. weather permitting.

The council also discussed the Slater Fall Festival, which is scheduled for October 17-19. City Administrator Gene Griffith explained everything is coming along well.

Mayor Terry Jordan also mentioned that cameras have been installed at the city’s park, but the city is still waiting for a router to activate them.
