ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The St. Louis Blues announced Thursday a minor change when it comes to the ownership structure of the franchise, while still maintaining all-local ownership under the leadership of Tom Stillman.

David Steward, who was an original member of Stillman’s group that bought the Blues in 2012 from Dave Checketts, have transferred his partial ownership stake to lifelong St. Louisan Michael W. Riney. Steward, reportedly, had less than 5% stake in the franchise.

Riney is the Founder and Managing Director of QRM Capital, which focuses on private investments and philanthropic endeavors in the St. Louis region. Riney and his wife, Quirsis, both run QRM Capital together and in addition, they also both maintain board seats on Washington University, the Danforth Plant Science Center, and the Missouri Botanical Garden.

"We are pleased to welcome Michael Riney to our ownership group. Like all members of the group, Michael has a passion for the Blues and a strong commitment to St. Louis." said Stillman in a release from the Blues. "The rest of the group will remain the same as we work toward a successful 2024-25 season."
