ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - MLB officially released the schedule for the 2025 season Thursday, and for the St. Louis Cardinals, they will begin the regular season hosting the Minnesota Twins at Busch Stadium on March 27, 2025.

The Cardinals will begin the 2025 season at Busch Stadium on a six-game homestand, hosting the Twins and the Los Angeles Angels. The Cardinals first away series of 2025 will be from April 4-6, as they head to Fenway Park in Boston to take on the Boston Red Sox.

The Cardinals first divisional series of 2025 will be from April 7-9 against the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park and their first divisional matchup at Busch Stadium will be against the Milwaukee Brewers from April 25-27.

The Cardinals will end the 2025 season on a six-game road trip to San Francisco and Chicago, with the Cardinals 2025 regular season ending at Wrigley Field against the Cubs on Sept. 28. The Cardinals last regular season game at Busch Stadium in 2025 is scheduled for Sept. 14 against the Brewers.

Among the notable highlights of the schedule include the Cardinals heading to Baltimore to take on the Baltimore Orioles on Memorial Day on May 26 and playing against the Cubs at Wrigley Field on Fourth of July weekend.

As part of the 2025 season, there will be a "Rivalry Weekend" across MLB that will take place on the weekend of May 16-18, with the Cardinals going to Kansas City, Missouri, to take on the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium.

For 2025, prime Interleague rivals will increase their number of matchups from four to six while playing a pair of three-game series rather than a pair of two-game series, which means for the Cardinals, they will see the Royals six times in 2025 instead of four.

The last time the Cardinals and Royals played six times in the regular season was in 2021, which saw Cardinals win all but one game against the Royals.

As a result, the Cardinals will play two fewer games against non-division league opponents in 2025.

For the Cardinals, it will make the sixth time since 2010 that the Cardinals will begin their regular season at Busch Stadium, and the fourth time in five years. From 2010-2019, the Cardinals preferred to begin the regular season on the road, with the Cardinals only beginning the regular season at Busch Stadium twice in that stretch (2011 and 2017).
