ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Who has the best chicken wings in St. Louis? The Wing Ding will set to figure that out Tuesday night.

The 14th Annual Wing Ding, organized by UCP Heartland is set to take place at The Armory Tuesday night, with local St. Louis restaurants competing to determine who has the best wings in three different categories: traditional (buffalo), dry rub, and specialty.

We will have 12 competing restaurants such as Imo's, Hot Pizza Cold Beer, Felix's, Chicken Scratch, Joey B', Duke's, Barbecue Shack," said Kevin Amstutz, Major Gifts Officer for UCP and MC for the event.

Amstutz says many of restaurants that he has talked to in the past week are excited for the competition night and many of them will feature more than a few interesting wing flavors Tuesday night.

"There's gonna be like a PB&J wing there, there's gonna be a Bourbon wing there. There's gonna be all types of kinds of wings," said Amstutz.

The competition is decided by a panel of local celebrity judges, and those who attend will also have a vote in the competition too.

"The very cool thing is everyone gets to play a vote in it. So we hand out awards that night and then we also do a People's Choice Award that evening." said Amstutz. "The guests all get to choose and vote for who has the best wings."

Amstutz also stressed that the event is a chance for those to attend to also help contribute to UCP Heartland and help them support children and adults with disabilities in the community.

"We do that through eight different programs really," said Amstutz. " We have a community services program where we help them socialize skill, building therapy sessions and inclusion in the community. We also have aba therapy for Children that are low income and we help them provide aba therapy, autism services and we actually do that in South City."

There is still time to get tickets for the event and you can help donate to the cause. You can also purchase tickets at the door and all ages are welcome to the event.

"You get to go to the event, go to The Armory. It's $40 now. And it's all you can eat wings." said Amstutz.
