Here's what you should do if you see a school shooting threat

ST LOUIS (KMOX) -- Locally this week, investigators have looked into school threats at Ritenour, Affton, Farmington, and other districts. Lt. Eric Brown with the Missouri Highway Patrol says if you see a threat online, do not repost it.

"By not reposting that you can help control that threat and be sure it's properly investigated without causing further harm or fear that may not be necessary," Brown tells KMOX.

He says the Patrol fields more than a thousand reports a year at courage2report.com , where people can can anonymously pass along threats which are then vetted. People can do so by phone, online, or an app.
