ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The parents of a former student who attended school in the Ritenour School District and brought a gun to school grounds are facing charges.

Traci and Terri Thompson, are facing charges of tampering with physical evidence in a felony prosecution.

According a release from the Ritenour School District, a threat was made toward Ritenour High School. The threat was forwarded to the district and police.

Police were able to identify the suspect as a former student, with the student allegedly planning to shoot up two Ritenour schools—Ritenour High School and Husky Academy in Overland.

Officers located the student in a car in the parking lot of Husky Academy. He ran from police and was arrested about a block away, less than half an hour after police were initially made aware of the threat. The parents were present when the teen was arrested.

According to charging documents, the parents both allegedly went back to Terry’s home to hide ammunition from earlier that day and take it to Traci’s home in an attempt to conceal it from the investigation. Police said they later found the bag with ammunition at Traci’s house.

Both Thompson are being held on a $250,000 cash-only bond. The student, who is a minor, has been charged with first-degree making a terrorist threat, unlawful use of a weapon, and resisting arrest amid the investigation.
