ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Get ready St. Louis baseball fans to see some 'Banana Ball' make its way to Busch Stadium next year.

Last week, the Savannah Bananas announced their 2025 schedule and among the stops will include a trip to St. Louis with the Bananas set to play two games against the Party Animals at Busch Stadium in April 2025.

When the Bananas make their way to St. Louis, it will be special for Bananas pitcher Noah Niznik, a St. Louis-native and graduate of St. John Vianney High School.

Niznik says growing up as a St. Louis Cardinals, the player he would idolize the most was Cardinals legendary outfielder Jim Edmonds.

"Jimmy Ballgame takes the cakes," said Niznik on 'The Chris and Amy Show'. "For me as a kid, always watching him, having his posters on my wall, and going out in the yard with myself and throwing the ball up, diving around and trying to be like him."

Niznik discussed how he joined the Bananas after a collegiate career pitching for the Redhawks at Southeast Missouri State University, and it needed a video featuring him doing dances moves that was sent to the Bananas.

"Once I didn't get drafted or signed, I thought 'ok my playing career is done' time to start coaching or whatnot," said Niznik. "Then (the Bananas) reached out and then I made the video as choreographed by (his girlfriend) Lydia. Then went to a private workout and now we are here."

For Niznik, he has sporadically made trips back to his hometown of St. Louis since joining the Bananas, and he still has some deep ties to the region.

"All my family, friends, girlfriend, they are all there," said Niznik. "I've been there about twice since we been here, just like on a couple of off weeks. But most of the time, it has just been traveling."

Niznik says that once it gets closer to the game week, Niznik says he is going to make sure to try and come back to St. Louis early to catch up with those close to him and potentially even a make a trip back to his alma-mater Vianney High School.

"Once its comes of the week of the game, I'm going to try to get up there a little early, go see some people, make my rounds. catch up and just hang around before the time comes," said Niznik.
