A 56-year-old Californian mother, Davina Corbin, was found dead alongside a trail, and the prime suspects: a 25-strong pack of Great Danes.
Knewz.com has learned that local law enforcement has since been able to capture 23 three of the giant hounds and is currently comparing their DNA samples to that taken from the woman’s wounds.

For the residents of Butte County in the Golden State, the local authorities ’ action comes a little too late.
Max Hecker, who lives in a neighborhood nearby, said the dogs were a known problem and that they menaced him on one occasion too.
“The Great Danes, they come across the road here at me,” he told a local outlet . “I jumped in the car and left.”
“This road would be solid tracts of the dogs , and they’d be out here in the road, and you would have to wade through ’em.”
According to Hecker, residents had already complained about the danger posed by these hounds. But these calls for intervention went unanswered until the death of Corbin.

Instead, according to Hecker, the authorities “ wait until somebody gets killed by those dogs.”
“That’s a tragedy that should have never, ever have happened, ever.”
Following the attack, the local Sheriff’s department executed a search warrant for the property opposite the site of the attack .
According to a report by KCRA , it spent all day chasing down the dogs and interned them at the Butte County Animal Control Center. While the tests are ongoing, it has been noted that there are no plans to euthanize the pack.
Said agency also indicated that, unlike the allegations of multiple calls with safety concerns regarding the dogs, it only received two complaints—and these pertained to the wellbeing of the animals.

Hecker differed. “What I’m saying is animal control is just as much at fault about that death as their dogs. They didn’t do anything about any of this.”
“This is what I’m mad about; that lady should have never died.”
It was noted that the 56-year-old woman did not own a car and was seen walking the Black Hawk Trail regularly. It was alongside this trail that she was found dead on Friday, August 9.
Justin Corbin, the late woman’s son, has since started a GoFundMe fundraiser for his mother.
There he wrote:
“Our mother, Davina Corbin, 56, of Feather Falls, California, was tragically taken from us after being attacked by dogs on August 8, 2024. We’re struggling to come to terms with this loss and need help saying goodbye.”
“We’re raising funds to cover the costs of her Celebration of Life ceremony and to bring her home to rest next to her brother in Dixon, CA. Any contribution will help us give her the farewell she deserves.”

Great Danes, according to the experts , are gentle giants because of “their calm temperament and friendly nature.”
Be this as it may, dog trainers are adamant that “dogs are pack animals, period! Even the smallest of breeds will demonstrate this!”— and this behavior can make them aggressive to humans .
