Maine State Police Say a 1-Year-Old Child on Vinalhaven Has Died
Maine State Police are Investigating the death of a child on the island of Vinalhaven. The Knox County Sheriff's Office received a report Wednesday morning of an unresponsive child. Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says the 1-year-old was transported to Islands Community Medical Services on the island and, a short time later, State Police were notified that the child had died.

Knox County Gleaners receives Communities Innovation Grant
UNION — This June, Maine Coast Heritage Trust (MCHT) awarded $6,500 from its Communities Innovation Grant to the Knox County Gleaners (KCG), a program of Come Spring Food Pantry in Union. The funds will be used by KCG to contract a volunteer coordinator and purchase gleaning supplies and fuel for distributing produce to food assistance sites.
