David Sanders Jr., five-star Tennessee football commit, attending Vols vs NC State game

David Sanders Jr. is attending Tennessee football 's game against NC State on Saturday in his hometown of Charlotte.

The five-star offensive tackle sat in the first few rows behind the Tennessee bench at Bank of America Stadium.

Sanders, who plays at Providence Day School, committed to Tennessee on Aug. 17 . The 6-foot-6, 270-pound Sanders is the No. 2 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the 247Sports Composite. He trails only five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood, an LSU commitment.

Sanders is the No. 2 recruit in UT history during the recruiting rankings era.

Sanders can sign with Tennessee on Dec. 4, when the early signing period begins. Tennessee has 24 commitments in the 2025 class.

Sanders is the top-ranked prospect in the class. He joins four-star recruits. inquarterback George MacIntyre, offensive lineman Douglas Utu, tight end Da’Saahn Brame, safety Lagonza Hayward, defensive lineman Mariyon Dye, wide receiver Travis Smith, defensive lineman Ethan Utley, linebacker Christian Gass, wide receiver Radarious Jackson, edge rusher Jayden Loftin, offensive lineman Nic Moore, tight end Jack Van Dorselaer, and linebacker Jaedon Harmon.

The Vols also are bringing in three-star recruits in cornerback Onis Konanbanny, running back Justin Baker, safety Sidney Walton, offensive tackle Antoni Kade Ogumoro, cornerback Tre Poteat, cornerback Dylan Lewis, defensive lineman Charles House, defensive lineman Darrion Smith, wide receiver Joakim Dodson, cornerback Tyler Redmond.
