Alabama football coach Kalen DeBoer said noise at Neyland Stadium won't be an issue.

Except, the first-year Alabama coach did not really say that. It's a quote from an AI video of DeBoer circulating on social media before the very real game between No. 10 Tennessee football (5-1, 2-1 SEC) and No. 7 Alabama (5-1, 2-1) takes place on Saturday (3:30 p.m. ET, ABC) at Neyland Stadium.

"I coached at Washington," the fake video of DeBoer said. "I know loud. With all due respect to their fans, but I don't see the noise being an issue on Saturday."

The fake quote, video and a graphic featuring the words attributed to DeBoer have been shared across Facebook and X, formerly known as Twitter, by Tennessee fans leading up to the matchup.

Kalen DeBoer did not say Tennessee fans are not loud at Neyland Stadium

DeBoer, the human version, did not mention Neyland Stadium in his Monday press conference. His lone reference to fans was saying "this game is a big deal to fans and obviously to us." He praised Tennessee coaches and players and quarterback Nico Iamaleava.

The fake DeBoer video appears to use footage from a postgame press conference following one of Alabama's three home victories based on DeBoer's attire and the logos behind him. Other AI videos of DeBoer's postgame press conference following Alabama's 41-34 win against Georgia on Sept. 28 have circulated, including one that depicts DeBoer saying he thought the game was over at halftime and that Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams "send those Bulldogs to the vet and put them to sleep" with a game-winning touchdown.

Alabama is 1-1 in road games. The Tide won 42-10 at Wisconsin on Sept. 14 then lost 40-35 at Vanderbilt on Oct. 5 after rising to No. 1 in the Associated Press Poll.

"I know that what I'm trying to do is just make sure we do our part as a football program and prepare so that people can celebrate and enjoy the rivalry on our end," DeBoer said. "A lot of respect for Tennessee, their coaches, their players."

What Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer said about Tennessee football

DeBoer is heading into his first experience with the Third Saturday in October. The former Washington coach was hired at Alabama after Nick Saban retired in January following 17 seasons with six national titles in Tuscaloosa.

He's already well-versed in the importance of the rivalry, however, and pointed to the Georgia game as an example of understanding the stakes.

"I've been told it's a big deal, and I know it's a big deal," DeBoer said of UT-Alabama. "Certainly understand the significance of the rivalry. Guys are going to be very motivated to go out and do their best and prepare well and be great on Saturday."

Tennessee beat Alabama 52-49 in the most recent meeting at Neyland Stadium in 2022, breaking a 15-game losing streak to the Crimson Tide . The Vols are 1-2 against Alabama under coach Josh Heupel with both losses occurring at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
