    South Carolina transfer commits to Lady Vol softball

    KNOXVILLE. Tenn. (WATE) — The Lady Vols softball has another 1-2 punch in the circle. Sage Mardjetko announced on her Instagram that she is transferring to Tennessee.

    “I’m extremely thankful to have had such a great freshman year at the University of South Carolina and for everything the coaching staff did for me,” Mardjetko wrote in the post. “I’m blessed to have met the most amazing teammates and friends while at UofSC. I’m excited to see where the future takes me as a Lady Vol!!”

    Tennessee baseball snags highly-rated shortstop transfer from Louisville

    Mardjetko spent one season at South Carolina. She finished her freshman year with eight wins, a 2.85 ERA, and 119 strikeouts.

    The right-hander entered the transfer portal after South Carolina fired head coach Beverly Smith.

    Cooper Mays, James Pearce named Preseason All-Americans

    Softball America had Mardjetko as the second-best player available in the transfer portal.

    Mardjetko will help add depth to the Lady Vols rotation that already has the SEC Pitcher of the Year in Karlyn Pickens.
